While Cincinnati's EDM scene can't compare to those of Chicago, Miami or Los Angeles, we're finally putting in an effort. Close to almost every Saturday, Prime Social Group, DJ Davey C, and Mynt have been bring artists in including 3LAU, Wolfgang Gartner, Henry Fong, Sidney Sampson, Borgeous, and more. This past Saturday, Project 46 came to visit.
The Canadian duo hopped on stage after Davey C around midnight. Their set included mixes of 'Take Me Home' by Cash Cash, 'Lights and Thunder' by Nicky Romero + Krewella, 'Animals' by Martin Garrix (Oliver Heldins Remix), and of course much more. We also heard their mix of Kaskade's 'Last Chance' and later on in the night Kaskade's, 'Summer'. You just can't go wrong with Kaskade, you just can't.
The crowd seemed to enjoy the soundtrack being provided by Project 46 and as you moved closer to the stage you could feel them getting into the groove of the music. For this reason Mynt is a great venue for shows as it hosts a very intimate feel.
While I enjoyed Project 46's choice in tracks and their ability to transition, I would have liked to have seen more energy from Ryan and Thomas. It seems so minuscule and sounds a little corny but just an ounce more of energy put into a fist pump or a few jumps here and there go a long way. -RP
