So, who is KYGO? He's a breath of fresh air in an overflowing stream of over 120 BPM tracks and "sick drops". A 22 year old music producer from Norway, Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll aka KYGO, likes to keep things around 100 bpm. Just enough to create a chill vibe but making it hard to resist dancing. Feels on feels on top of feels! Fans have described his music as "buttery smooth" and "chocolate for my eardrums.". One fan shared that his "music exudes love." while another says he's "the John Mayer of EDM." Descriptively interesting reviews, but I couldn't agree more.
His most popular remix of Ed Sheeran's 'I See Fire' has received over 14,000,000 plays on Soundcloud and his remix of Marvin Gaye's 'Sexual Healing' has been used among many well-known Dj sets including Diplo. Kygo has been on a steady rise as he recently signed an exclusive deal with Sony Music/ ULTRA. And if you're looking to see him live, good luck. His North American tour is extremely close to being sold out. My bet? It'll be sold out after his TomorrowWorld set.
While his style is a lot different from the other Main Stage acts, it's my opinion that KYGO's set will resonate along well with the environment of TomorrowWorld. Imagine listening to one of his below remixes twirling under a mushroom the size of a tree. Welcome to wonderland is what I'm thinking.
If you're familiar with KYGO, what are your thoughts on adding him to TomorrowWorld's Main Stage? If you've just discovered him, what are your thoughts on his work?
