I love Ice cream. Don't you? Just like my taste in music, my love for ice cream is quite diverse. Sometimes I want chocolate chips and sometimes I want something fruity. But when it comes to Graeters, Elena's Blueberry Pie is one of my ALL TIME favorites. It's creamy but the pie crust is still crunchy. Mind blowing, honestly. The best part? It's linked to a pretty great cause.
Just 5 days ago, The Cure Starts Now and Graeter's launched Cones for the Cure, a campaign to raise money and awareness for pediatric brain cancer. From now until September 20th, guests that visit participating Graeter's locations have the opportunity to donate $1, $5 or more to Cones for the Cure. One day **coming soon**, Graeter's will be giving away FREE scoops of Elena's Blueberry Pie ice cream! (Stay tuned to The Cure Starts Now and Twist on PR's social media accounts for the 411)
The story behind my favorite Graeter's ice cream starts in 2007. Elena Desserich, a 6 year old fighting cancer, won the opportunity to invent her own flavor of ice cream and of course, name it. With every scoop of the delicious and heart melting ice cream, a portion of the proceeds benefits The Cure Starts Now.
So, what do you do when you're handed that perfect scoop of ice cream? Snap a pic! Once you head into Graeter's and order your favorite flavor, get creative and show it off! Upload it to social media and use the hashtag #conesforthecure to be entered to win the ultimate grand prize of free Graeter's for a year! Um, yum! Be sure to 'Like' The Cure Starts Now on Facebook to be eligible to win. I'll see you all at Graeter's!
