The temperatures are dropping. The trees have lost their leaves. It’s dark by the time we leave work. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are off the Starbucks menu and Gingerbread Lattes are where it’s at. Somehow, it’s already Christmas time!
While the holiday season is all about tradition, it’s nice to mix things up and start new traditions. Instead of spending time cooped up in someone's apartment, we’re trying something new this year with my group of friends at Liberty Center.
Liberty Center’s big tree lighting and holiday parade has already passed, however there’s still a show to see! In the Park, you can watch the tree light show every day from 6-10PM every hour on the hour. Set to music by the Trans Siberian Orchestra, the lights strung along the tree dance around for a magical experience. Day or night, Liberty Center's tree is a beautiful sight to see with it's candles and giant ornaments. Who needs the Chicago Bean to take pictures on when you've got giant shiny tree ornaments!
Let the spirit of Christmas wisp you away. Seriously, let it. Liberty Center offers carriage rides around the park. It’s a fun experience that makes you feel like you’re living in a fairy tale.
Speaking of fairy tales...or something of the sort. Cinebistro is showing Christmas Vacation on 12/6 and White Christmas on 12/13 for just $7. White Christmas is one of my favorite movies and it’s a tradition to watch it every December. I can’t wait to watch it on the big screen! Be sure to grab your tickets before the show here.
Now, in case you haven’t heard…
Liberty Center’s Santa is the REAL DEAL. He flew in straight from the North Pole and has been making spirits bright ever since. Don't be afraid to go up and snap a pic with the jolly old man! You're never too old for a selfie with Santa. PLUS, you can use your phone to take the pics. Whether you're snapping a selfie or bringing the kids up to share their wish list, make an appointment to skip the line
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
