How To Have a Rockin' Summer

Summertime is all about the music and I’m ready to dive in! Whether we’re blaring our favorite Spotify playlist at the pool, adventuring to a music festival or headed to a local show, the music is key to any Summer plan. Integrating live music doesn’t have to break the bank either.

For the second consecutive year, Liberty Center presents their Summer Concert Series providing live music for free every Thursday from June 1st to August 31st on the Square (By cinebistro and AC Marriott). Kicking off with the Eden Park Band, the series features Bad Habit, The Danny Frazier Band, The Whammies, Smoooth, the Nick Netherton band and many more. In August, they'll wrap up with the oh-so crazy, Naked Karate Girls. The series includes bands representing Rock, Country, Jazz, and everything in between. So there's sure to be a night to fit your vibe. Check out the full line up on the Liberty Center website.

To prep and plan (aka an excuse to shop), I scoped out some places where we could go to grab food and a few drinks before the show. Bar Del Mar offers a refreshing menu with light bites, pizza, burgers and salad. With a beachy vibe and open patio area, it’s a quick escape from good ol’ Ohio. Their bar offers fun liquor infusions, cocktails and beer. We ordered the Street Corn Nachos and Potato Pizza paired with Schofferhofer to wash it all down. MAJOR NOMS.

Now, I never pass an opportunity to embrace my Rock N Roll vibe, so I stopped at Forever 21 to amp up my wardrobe. I ended up finding a washed out lace up t-shirt dress and a choker to pair with it. Almost heading to check out, I decided to roam the men's section and I am SO glad that I did. A huge fan of 80’s hair bands, I’ve been in search for a solid Def Leppard Tee. Well friends, I FOUND IT! Hiding behind a tie dye shirt was this beautiful oversized Def Leppard shirt. SOLD. Since it was under $20, I plan to cut it up and really make it my own. Both items will be perfect for rocking out on these Summer nights.

The cool thing about the Summer Concert Series is that it's FREE! So get ready, grab a blanket and meet me on the Square at Liberty Center this Summer!
